Rear red led stays on 'during' exposure In reply to dloop • Sep 8, 2017 The light indicates the camera is writing to the card, so it would seem logical it would illuminate as soon as you release the shutter and remain illuminated for the amount of time it takes to finish writing (including any extra time required for long exposures). I have noticed that on my computer, it comes on about 5min after login and stays on for good 10-15min. Starting last night my LED notification light stays on when the screen is off.
